Inspiring Quote

“No-one remembers who came second”

Mission statement: Eat that Frog.

How did you end up in this role?

In November 2016 whilst undertaking the Diploma in Legal Practice I saw an advert for a different kind of Law Firm – Complete Clarity Solicitors. Intrigued, I applied and after a tough interview process including a 60 second presentation in front of my competitors I was lucky enough to be offered one of three positions as a Legal Assistant.

I was fortunate enough to be offered a traineeship on Easter Monday in 2017 and gladly accepted commencing my traineeship on the 1st of June 2017.

What do you love most about your job?

My traineeship is extremely hands on. Being trusted to run my own case load from beginning to end is extremely enjoyable. In February 2018 eight months into my traineeship I was able to run my first proof under the Simple Procedure. Court exposure from an early start is something I have thoroughly enjoyed.

How do you do what you do?

Having read “Eat that Frog” by Brian Tracy I learnt prioritisation of my daily workload is key to success. You need to set time aside each day for each task however, you must also be flexible. Task Lists enable me to do what I do.

About Eilidh

Eilidh is a trainee solicitor at Complete Clarity Solicitors based within our Woodlands Road office. Born in Glasgow, Eilidh attended The Glasgow Academy before going on to study both her LLB and Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde.

Early mornings and late nights don’t bother Eilidh, to support her studies she worked at Glasgow Airport for 5 years. Starting as a check-in agent and working her way up to Team Leader on the Virgin Atlantic Product. Eilidh thoroughly enjoyed her time at the airport. However, in January 2017 Eilidh happily hung up her red heels to begin her Legal Career with Complete Clarity.

In addition to working at the airport, Eilidh carried out work experience at Patten & Prentice Solicitors in Greenock. Her work experience involved shadowing their senior partner and Civil Litigation Solicitor and carrying out legal research on a wide range of issues.

Outwith work Eilidh has a keen interest in Curling. She started playing whilst at school before joining Brahead Young Curlers in 2010. She currently plays for four different clubs at Braehead. Eilidh was the first female to win the Glasgow Academical’s David Duncan Trophy and very recently won the Fraser Pairs with her father in the 10th Dunbartonshire Province competition. Curling runs in Eilidh’s family and she regularly competes against her younger sister, father and grandfather. However, the highlight of Eilidh’s curling season is at Christmas when the four of them play together at Hamilton in the Yett Trophy.

Eilidh enjoys socialising with her friends and is always looking for ideas on new places to go.

Personal Information

I love travelling and try to see a new country every year. Last year I travelled to Australia to visit family and friends, Melbourne was my favourite city. In the future I would love to travel to Asia. I follow Scottish Rugby and have held a season pass for the past three years. The atmosphere on a game day and spending time with my family and friends is something I thoroughly enjoy.
