We asked Abby about her role as a Legal Assistant at Simplicity Legal
What is the favourite part of your role?
No two days are the same! Covering all of the different areas of law is what makes the role challenging, but exciting. I have learned something new every day since I started in this role.
What do you like most about working for Simplicity Legal?
How welcoming everyone on the team has been, alongside how flexible the working hours are. It can be challenging working in a solicitors whilst completing a degree full-time, being able to swap around my days to cater to deadlines and exams has been beneficial in the lead up to my graduation. I know when I return to university for my Postgraduate Diploma the team will be great in helping me balance this.
What skills do you find most useful in doing your role?
Multitasking is definitely a key skill to have. It is important to keep on top of all the daily tasks and not let anything slip through the cracks, organisation is also a must.
Where is your favourite place to go on holiday?
I can’t say that I have a favourite, as long as I’m in the sun, then I’m happy.
What is your proudest achievement?
I recently graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a 2:1 in my LLB, the cherry on the cake was getting accepted in the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice the following week.
What do you enjoy doing when not working?
My current obsession is Spin classes, I love attending classes after work as a way of keeping myself active.
How would your team colleagues describe you?
I would hope that my team would describe me as hardworking and reliable.
