We ask Andrew Devin about her role as Simplicity Legal:
As a legal assistant I’ve gotten to try my hand at almost all parts of the business, from client services to assisting in all facets of legal work. Now with a view of beginning my traineeship with the firm, I’ve worked alongside knowledgeable solicitors to develop my technical drafting skills as well as legal research.
What is the favourite part of your role?
Finding ways to provide value to clients in various matters, for me helping people in need is my sole reason for getting into this business, the opportunity to do just that has been incredibly rewarding.
What do you like most about working for Simplicity Legal?
The people I work with are genuinely nice, down to earth and genuine people. I feel I am treated well and the work/life balance is good.
What skills do you find most useful in doing your role?
The positive workplace culture and accommodating people I have the pleasure of working with. Between charity events, and the flexibility in working that I’ve benefitted from, I can’t thank the team enough.
Where is your favourite place to go on holiday?
I’ve not had the opportunity to go everywhere I want, but so far, Korea. Exploring a city so many times the size of Glasgow was such an incredible experience. Though I think I’d be happy anywhere with a beach as well.
What is your proudest achievement?
Achieving my degree in law, with an academic award, from a university I never thought I’d be accepted into.
What do you enjoy doing when not working?
I like to keep busy with my other hobbies, while a bit rusty I still play guitar, I do a lot of creative writing, try to keep consistent with the gym and enjoy spending time with friends.
